Blankets of Hope by Maleah and Friends started February 2015, when Maleah was 12 years old. She and her mom always fed the homeless people once a month. So, when she she saw a homeless man wearing a thin jacket, shivering in the cold on the street corner, she wanted to do more than to give him encouragement. She wanted him and all homeless people to have warm blankets. She suggested making blankets to her mom, and they started making blankets that day with money of their own. Later, friends, family, and Facebook friends also donated money, supplies, and time. So far, Blankets of Hope by Maleah and Friends have made 800 blankets for homeless people.
